Rooms for Centrica and Rampside gas terminal crews
Working on a confirmed energy assignment around Morecambe Bay or Rampside? Check the reporting location, working hours and expected assignment length with your employer before choosing where to live. Our furnished rooms include bills and suit working households.
What you get
- From £135 a week, all bills included. Gas, electricity, water, council tax, Wi-Fi. One standing order.
- A furnished double room with a desk and your own TV, in a house of working adults.
- Check the full commute. Compare the actual room-to-reporting-point journey at both shift times, including parking and the final walk.
- Shift- and rotation-friendly. Assured periodic tenancy, two months' notice. Your room stays yours between trips.
- Parking on the street at every home, and somewhere sensible to leave kit and boots.
Shifts and a quiet house
If your assignment includes shifts, plan for the journey home as well as the start of work. Our housemates are working adults on early starts and shift patterns — the sort who want a hot shower, a quiet evening and a room they can actually live in rather than a bed in a house that turns over every Sunday. Rooms have a double bed, a desk, storage and a TV so you are not living in the front room.
Who this suits
Energy staff, process and control engineers, maintenance and inspection contractors, and agency workers with a confirmed assignment in the area who want a proper tenancy rather than a nightly rate. If your work is at the port or on the wind farms instead, the Ørsted, Walney and port page is the one for you.
Where to live if you work at Rampside
Compare the route from the particular room to the reporting point your employer confirms, including the trip home at your actual working hours. Check traffic, parking and the final walk; the town name alone does not establish a commute time. Our moving guide and Dalton or Barrow? compare the two properly, including what things cost.
Spirit Energy and Morecambe Net Zero
Spirit Energy’s UK operations page describes gas production from Morecambe. Its 9 June 2026 announcement calls Spirit Energy a Centrica business and says the Morecambe Net Zero Peak Cluster project entered the Assess Phase of its carbon-storage licence. The proposal concerns storage after gas production ends; it does not mean carbon storage is already operating.
Project announcements do not establish a particular job, start date or demand for rooms. Confirm your own employer, contract and reporting instructions directly.
Employer sources reviewed 15 October 2026. No fixed room-to-work time or future work programme is promised.
